  • No, we’ll train you! We host training every first Thursday of the month!

  • It is extremely helpful if you speak other languages, however, it is not required—many roles don’t need it.

  • Yes, in a supportive and guided team environment.

Free Help for People Applying for Asylum in the U.S.

We help people apply for asylum who are afraid to return to their home countries because of violence, persecution, or threats.

What We Offer:

  • Help completing your I-589 asylum application

  • Help changing court venue to Denver, Colorado

  • Guidance on how to file with the court and ICE

  • Limited legal representation for your application

  • Education about your rights


Do You Qualify for Asylum?

To qualify, you must fear returning to your country because of:

  • Race

  • Religion

  • Nationality

  • Political opinion

  • Membership in a particular social group

Eligibility Criteria

We serve immigrants who:

  • Currently living in the U.S. and afraid to return to their home country due to persecution

  • Have not previously filed for asylum

  • Do not have a lawyer representing them

  • Have no criminal history

  • Can attend a clinic appointment in Denver

  • Have been in the U.S. for less than one year, with a few exceptions

NewLife is a faith-rooted legal clinic operated by Heights Church in Denver. We believe in showing God’s love by standing with immigrants who seek safety and justice. Our weekly Thursday clinics serve asylum seekers through compassionate legal guidance.
